Springtime Paris is a marvelous sight. As early as mid-March, the first timid flowers appear in the flowerbeds, and in April the city blossoms literally before your eyes, turning into a real oasis. It is hardly worth spending your time in a closed space in spring, especially since the weather is not hot, but comfortable and suitable for long walks and outdoor recreation. Where can tourists go in spring?
1. Luxembourg Garden
At the back of the Latin Quarter lies the Luxembourg Gardens, one of the most beautiful parks in Paris. Here you can stroll along the flowery alleys, admire the snow-white sculptures of French queens and the beautiful building of the Luxembourg Palace. After wandering around the park, it is pleasant to sit down on an iron chair at the fountain, broken by Maria de Medici, and relax, breathing in the fragrance of flowers. In addition to the Luxembourg Garden, you can visit other parks of Paris: Tuileries, Manso, Monsouri, Butte-Chaumont, Bois de Boulogne and others.
2. Throne Fair
In the spring, fairs are regularly held in different districts of Paris. The most famous of these is La Foire du Trône, which dates back to 957. The fair, which runs for two spring months, is spread out on the edge of the Vansen Forest. On a vast area of 10 hectares, countless stalls are set up on which mountains of souvenirs, treats and delicacies from all over France are laid out. But it’s not just for shopping: there is always fun and joie de vivre at the Tronne Fair. Numerous amusement rides are erected here, musicians and artistic groups perform, and fireworks are organized.
3. A walk along the Seine
It is very convenient to admire Paris in clouds of delicate colors by taking a river trip along the Seine. Such a romantic journey allows you to take a new look at the capital of France, especially since the absence of lush foliage allows you to see the beauty of architectural structures in detail. A pleasant option is a pleasure boat with lunch or dinner. On board you can enjoy not only beautiful scenery, but also exquisite dishes.
4. Cultural events
There are many different events taking place in Paris in the spring. Depending on your interests and time of stay, you can visit Haute Couture Week, the Shorts Film Festival, the Taste of Paris Gastronomic Festival, the International Book Fair, the Poetry Festival, the Art and Design Fair or other cultural events.
5. Versailles
Spring is the best time of year to visit the royal residences located in the Parisian suburbs. First of all, you should consider visiting Versailles, especially since the famous fountains start working in April. In sunny weather you can go for a walk or bike ride through the huge park, admiring the masterful work of landscape designers. If it rains, you can head to the palace and tour the royal chambers.

- During the spring months, the weather in Paris is extremely capricious, which you should take into account when packing your bags. Orient yourself on demi-seasonal clothes, but be sure to bring a warm sweater (jacket) and a couple of summer clothes. Don’t forget to bring an umbrella and sunglasses.
- In spring, the Catholic Church celebrates Easter, the date of which does not always coincide with the Orthodox holiday. Some stores, restaurants and museums may not be open on this day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Ascension and Trinity.
- In May, Paris hosts the “Night of Museums”, during which you can visit a number of cultural institutions for free. Some museums also offer extended exhibitions, free guided tours, and theatrical performances on this day.
- The streets of Paris can be navigated not only on foot or by public transportation, but also on bicycles. Rentals are available at many of the city’s iconic locations, such as at the entrances to parks.
