Comédie Française is the oldest theater not only in France, but also in the whole of Europe, it is not surprising that the building where the performances are held is considered one of the most important sights of Paris. The idea of creating the theater belonged to Louis XIV – the very Sun King. Louis united actors from two of the most famous theater companies: “the Hôtel de Bourgogne and Molière’s troupe. As a result, the Comédie Française was born, which is also known as the “house of Molière”. Naturally, the theater hosted almost all the plays of the most famous comic playwright, putting in the oldest French theater plays by Diderot, Voltaire, Beaumarchais. Comédie Française, unlike most European theaters, does not work on the principle of entreprise. Here they stage a variety of productions: from ancient comedies to plays by modern playwrights. Moreover, for performances are often invited famous foreign directors, for example, Peter Fomenko staged in the theater play “Forest” based on the work of Ostrovsky. Another reason for the popularity of the theater is inexpensive tickets. It is even surprising that in such a famous institution tickets for the best seats cost no more than 40 euros. We invite you to take a sightseeing tour of Paris During which you will be able to familiarize yourself with many other sights of the capital in the company of a Russian-speaking guide.
