The Paris Metropolitan began operating as early as 1900. At first, Parisians were distrustful of underground trains, believing that this way of traveling could harm the health of passengers. But very soon the undeniable advantages of the subway overcame all prejudices. Now 14 major lines and several small branches have been put into operation, covering not only Paris itself, but also the popular nearest suburbs. In almost any end of the city to the nearest metro station can be reached in maximum ten minutes. The trains of the Paris subway are very different from each other, you can see cars of different colors and different shapes. And car doors, unlike the usual Moscow subway, passengers have to open them themselves at stops. It was in the Paris Metro that for the first time places for the disabled were arranged, electronic cards were introduced and rubber wheels were installed, which considerably reduce the noise level. Nevertheless, the safety of the Paris Metro leaves much to be desired. Pickpockets often pickpocket at the stations, and passengers are constantly reminded of this by loudspeaker. The lines leading to Charles de Gaulle Airport are particularly dangerous.
